History, issued as stamps

Africanicity celebrates the African and Black American greats who shaped the modern world, and the landmarks and wildlife of the continent, through a collectible series of original stamp-art designs.

Every issue starts with research. We write a short biography for each subject from published, citable sources and link those sources on the page so you can read further. If you spot an error, email hello@africanicity.com and we’ll correct it.

How the art is made

Our designs are original Africanicity Post stamps: our own frame, seal, numbering and typography. Portraits are drawn in an engraved style from public-domain or licensed reference photographs, then reviewed and finished by hand so that likenesses are respectful and accurate.

Printed to order

Nothing is printed until you order it, which means less waste. Each order is produced by a print partner close to you, in the US, UK or EU, so it arrives faster with a smaller footprint. See shipping & returns.
